deviantART My GalleryRequests/Trades (now closed)
I spent at least an hour writing this journal and when I was almost finished, I lost EVERYTHING.
Twice! My ridiculously sensitive mouse accidentally navigated away, and the second time my comp crashed.

Ive worked on this journal for almost a week now. Well anyways, Im writing the whole thing over.
I saw the 2008 Beijing Olympics opening ceremony on the internet a few days ago(I missed it on TV). It. Was. Amazing. Does anyone agree? I was so astounded by the Chinese artistry and extreme precision of the thousands of performers! And every part seemed to have a symbolic meaning behind it. I was blown away
Ive never been so proud to be Chinese! *azn peace*
A few weeks ago when I had 2,000-something pageviews I made a goal to reach 3,000 pvs before the school year began (August 20th). I had to get
at least 500 pageviews in the next couple of weeks. But when I woke up one morning, I FREAKED out. Upon opening my dA page, I saw this:
(I know it says 3,002 pvs and not 3,000. But its close enough!)
I was so surprised! Thank you to everyone whos helped me out and encouraged me, especially

. She was especially encouraging and generous, and even featured me in her journal!

And of course I want to thank my viewers. None of this would have even been possible without you guys!
I know Im making a big deal for such a small number. But to me, its
NOT small. So dont spoil it for me just yet
As everyone knows, summer is coming to an end. So I want to say a temporary good bye to dA. I most likely wont have much time to post over the year
maybe not at all. I certainly hope I can, but I cant make any promises
but dont give up on me if I stop posting for awhile. I know from past experiences that people get tired of waiting around for you on dA. I wont have forgotten deviantART! I just get busy
and lazy
^^ but Ill do what I can.
P.S. To the requesters and traders, I have sad news. I will in fact
not be able to finish everything before summer ends. So youll have to wait a while longer.
Here are 10 remarkable artists who have displayed what they consider two of their worst deviations in comparison to their two best deviations! If you havent seen them yet, I consider you check them out yourself!
(all of my comments are based on their chosen deviations)
Best:

Worst:

This artist has an astounding grasp on shading and color blending. There is an extremely realistic touch to the art. And just look how much improvement there has been compared to the two worst-chosen! The change in art style from several years ago to now looks like work done from two different artists!
Best:

Worst:

The heavy contrast displayed in these deviations has a dramatic feel. At the same time, the precision of shines and shadows makes them look real enough to be photos. The worst deviations are not nearly as detailed, but they are still remarkable, the first one realistically and the second symbolically.
Best:

Worst:

Most artists study one aspect of art, but this deviant clearly has specialty in a variety of areas. Based on the best, empty space is certainly not an issue for her like it is for most other artists. Her attention to detail is so astounding that some of her works look like photos!
Best:

Worst:

3-dimensionalism is this artists forte. The details are exquisite when zoomed in, especially with traditional media thats seldom seen on dA, like these acrylics. Her worst-chosen lack some detail and shading, but her best ones definitely make up for it.
Best:

Worst:

You can tell this comic-styled artists work has composition similar to that of a movie poster. I also noticed in all four of his deviations that he has some kind of spotlighting, which really makes the work pop. Even his worst-chosen are remarkable.
Best:

Worst:

This deviant has a strength in theme patterns. By that I mean he sticks to one theme and blends it into his entire piece. I love his ability to take an interesting background and weave it into the foreground. Many artists have difficulty tying backgrounds to the main part, but he is certainly not one of those cases.
Best:

Worst:

Here is a unique style of 2-dimensionality that I rarely see. The creativity of the first thumbs collage amazes me because I was able to tell what it was immediately. This artist can use two flat colors to his advantage by making a strong contrast that catches the eye.
Best:

Worst:

This artist knows exactly where the shines should go to make things pop out in all the right areas. Her use of colors are warm and bright, even in the dark deviations. And just look how much improvement she has made and how shes developed her own style!
Best:

Worst:

Skin tones, skin tones, skin tones. This deviant has such a gift when it comes to making skin look real by using different kind of colors for shadows and highlights! She is also able to take realism and twist a little fantasy in, while
still managing that realistic look.
Best:

Worst:

If you think realism is difficult to pull off when youre using colors, try realism in just one shade! This artist is a master at shading with just pencil by finding proper shadows and glints. Facial proportions are dead on, so of course she can pull off something so real its like staring at a B&W photo.
